Before signing any recruitment contract, ask these questions. A legitimate, MOIA-registered agency will answer all of them clearly and in writing.

The 10 Essential Questions

  1. <strong>What is your MOIA Registration Number?</strong> (Verify on emigrate.gov.in)
  2. <strong>Can I see the original Demand Letter from the employer?</strong> (Should be on employer letterhead with embassy attestation)
  3. <strong>Who exactly is the employer?</strong> (Company name, address, contact)
  4. <strong>What is the exact salary in the employment contract?</strong>
  5. <strong>Are accommodation and meals included?</strong>
  6. <strong>Who pays for the return air ticket?</strong>
  7. <strong>What is the contract duration?</strong>
  8. <strong>What are the working hours and days off?</strong>
  9. <strong>What is the process if I want to return home on emergency leave?</strong>
  10. <strong>What fees are you charging me, and is this within government-permitted limits?</strong>

What Fees Are Legal?

Under the Emigration Act, recruiting agents can charge: - Unskilled workers: Maximum ₹4,000 - Skilled workers: Maximum ₹5,000
